many track athletes undergo strenuous running workouts. i no what your thinking oh that is easy jogging a few km no, this training involves many different painful and hard exercises that include a lot of band work and and different jumping exercises also all serve the one purpose to increase speed.

e.g. : carlin isles does a lot off speed band work to increase pace here is an a video example of band use.
